Benefits offered to disabled people

 

BASIC INVALIDITY PENSION
A disabled person with more than 60% incapacity aged between 15-59 years 11 months gets a pension of Rs 5,000/month.

Social Aid for disable

Elligible  person with any physical or mental disability

Is temporary or permanently incapable of earning adequately his livelihood

Types of Social Aid

- Social Aid in Cash aged between 18-59 years 11 months Minimum ......

-Carer's Allowance, for a child between the age of 6 months - 18 years where the child suffers from a  disability of at least 60% and is in need of constant care and attention as certified by a Medical Board. Get a monthly allowance  for a child , incontinence and bedridden

-wheelchairs,(hearing aid and spectacles if meeting qualification criteria)

Pensioneers

Beneficiaries of disability pensions 100% incapacitated aged 60 years and above get an additional fee of Rs3,000/month with their old age pension (60 – 90 years – Rs5,000; 90-100 years – Rs15,000; 100 and above – Rs20,000). Additional facilities offered by the government to the disabled people include, exemption from duty on disability related materials (wheelchairs, prostheses etc), free health related materials to those who need but cannot afford them (National Solidarity Fund).

Injury allowance (secured employee)

In case of injury at work with an incapcity exceeding two weeks, he/she is elligible for injury allowance for a period not exceeding 3 years.
